Thanks for running the tests.
As mentioned above, the same behavior occurs on regular website posts, which aren’t customized in any way.
As for the field display in the admin area, it probably looks different because I installed the “Classic Editor” plugin to get the pre-Gutenberg editor. I tried disabling the “Classic Editor” plugin, but the problem persists.
What can I do to fix it? Can’t I try adding some custom code to prevent Yoast SEO from automatically generating the description? I would like to show only the ones manually entered via the Yoast SEO panel.

Hi,
I checked, and the field is named “excerpt.” (textarea name=””). It looks like the basic WordPress field because you can also see a small description line right below it: “Excerpts are manually created summaries of your content and can be used in your theme. Learn more about manual excerpts.”
Here’s a link to the screenshot of the field. The various texts on the screen will be displayed in Italian, the site’s language.

I add that this bug seems to exist even on regular wordpress posts that don’t have any customization. If I set the summary/excerpt I see a second meta description appear on the page. I was able to solve the problem. I had to place the file in the child theme’s “woocommerce” directory.

There are no errors on the browser console side or in the woocommerce logs.
In the woocommerce scheduled actions panel I see that there are no scheduled actions waiting, no scheduled actions failed and a series (4 pages) of “wc-admin_import_batch_orders” scheduled actions completed.
I still don’t see any data in Analytics.

thank you, I carried out the tests, I found that the problem only occurs if the “Multi-Step Checkout for WooCommerce (Pro)” plugin is active.
I wrote to the plugin developers to ask for verification. I will write to you again if necessary.

I checked and it is the correct field, the other plugin does not add any text in the validation phase. In the video you can see the inscription “Validating VAT. Please wait…”. The screenshot of the settings are these:

You can see that I entered a French VAT number, the VAT number is validated correctly but the total is not updated.
You can see at the bottom a second field “VAT Number UE – fill in to obtain the exemption”, it is inserted by another plugin, the result is the same even if the second plugin is deactivated.
Is there any news? I urgently need to find a solution, thanks
