Seems like Imageshack has problems with the link it gave to show the image in my prev. message so I try to copy the content here again.

Tried Twenty Eleven, no difference to the problem, same results as far as I could see.
Tried some other themes as well but no difference.

Here you can see the advice they gave after doing the Theme Check on Parament.
I have no insight into coding so it is all Babberich to me, but maybe it can tell you something.

I didn’t know that this problem can be related to the theme.

I have tried many different settings now, took all the stickies off and disabled all plugins and than put the stickies back again, same problem occurred.
Taking off the widgets didn’t help either.

All in all it’s taking a massive amount of time to check all possible options for me, so I think it would be better that someone with more insight to the workings of WP has a look at this.

And maybe it is a known bug and they are working on it already, or at least are aware of it!

I call it a day for now.

    Thanks for helping!

    Thanks for helping, Jan Dembowski!
    This is MY SITE
Also the stickies you see now don’t show in the right sequence.
The second one was posted last and should be on top but whatever I try, it doesn’t want to!
But it did when I did this the first time!

    Awesome site!!!
Which theme and gallery plug in do you use?

After doing all this as described above I found that “stickies” of which the post is visible on the frontpage before sticking them, will have no problems.

As soon as I select some from older posts to be sticked to the frontpage, the trouble starts and WP forgets the number of posts on the frontpage.

So I think this is a serious bug and I wonder if there is more info to be found on the subject leading to the same outcome and if someone has given a solution already or reported it as a bug.

If anybody has more info regarding “stickies” please tell me and give me some links.

    Thanks for all your help.

It’s quite amazing what is happening!
The “stickies” now keep on reshuffling themselves.
I don’t do anything at all, just log in and place a new post.
After posting, the amount of posts on the front page again has not adjusted, so there are 12 items on the front page of which 5 are “stickies”.
According to my settings there should be a total of 8 items on the front page, as shown in the previously posted screenshot.

Make a back-up and keep the old one.
Problem here is that I didn’t make a back-up for a week so now there will be quite a gap between the last and the new back-up.
And this is not “just a blog” but an entire CSM content with several different pages, so loosing this would be quite a disaster as there are many hours of work put down here.

What I have decided to do is taking down all the “stickies” and see if the number of posts will adjust again.
Than, if so, I will make a back-up of that.
After making the back-up I will put back the “stickies” and see what will happen.

Btw. this isn’t the only problem I am having.
WP is behaving very quirky at times, unexplainable things, images not scaling like they should and several other things that all happen while editing.

So I guess Word Press is not as stable when you are using it as a CMS instead of just a blog.

Maybe I better change to using Joomla or Drupal instead.

    Thanks for helping!

Have been trying a little more to solve this strange problem by myself but it seems I am running in to more problems.
On my front page are some “sticky” posts, they might be the cause of all this quirky behavior.

So I took them all off and adjusted the number of posts again and that time it was working fine.
Than I tried to put back the “stickies” in the order I want them.
But than the same problem started all over again but this time with some difference: the “stickies” were in a different order than I had put them, so they did reshuffle all by themselves(!).

Than also several times, going back to the “backend”, the page looked totally different, very basic with tables everywhere and all the icons in the navigation menu were gone, after refreshing the page it all came back again.

But I think this shows that WP isn’t stable so I am wondering if reinstalling WP is a possible option to solve this problem.
    But what are the consequences?
    Do I loose plugins?

Also I don’t dare to make a back-up at the moment, afraid that, what ever causes this will be in the back-up.

No cashing plug in, at least as far as I know because I don’t really know what a cashing plug in is.

Thing is however, that it only happens on the first page.
When you click for “older posts” that page will have 8 posts.

    Strange isn’t it?

And than there is the matter of images not scaling properly.
Never happened before until this morning.
I went back all traces of what I did this morning but couldn’t find anything pointing to something wrong somewhere.

I got it now after doing a lot of searching but finally got it working

Tried different opacities, 0.5 is the best for keeping it readable!
    Looks great!
But what I noticed is that it doesn’t seem to apply to the sidebar.
Only the post or page area became transparent.

So kind of you to try to help.
I really have little understanding of CSS and am wondering now where to find the place to put this.
“the main area under your content” , but where do I find that?

Sorry but I really do not understand what you are saying here.
The URL is in the link and the menu I mean is in the Parament theme’s, not the browser or WP.

I already stated that I have almost no knowledge of CSS.

So I am still waiting for someone who understood my question and who can tell me what to do to adjust the dropdown menu.
