I’m having this exact same issue. There should at least be a way to edit/update the upload date, so that the file shows up at the top of the Media Library list.
Plugin also adds more referral spam to your site in the header.

I am having the same error message, and I’m running PHP5. My server currently has allow_url_fopen disabled. Any workarounds, short of enabling allow_url_fopen?
Same error here.
That solution works fine for me. In case anyone wants to display galleries with captions, use this modification. BTW, I copied “album-extend.php” into a folder called “nggallery” in my theme folder, and made the modification to that page only.
