Many thanks for the tips. Actually my colleague worked it out another way around! We replaced single-timeline-express-announcement.php inside timeline-express/lib/single-announcement-template/ with the single.php in theme root (renamed to single-timeline-express-announcement.php). That solves the problem and now we can see the single announcement page.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Just checked and we do have single.php file in the theme. We are using energy theme from themeforest.
