I found the solution. When you are on the screen with all the columns on the right, look toward the top right of the screen. There should be a small Screen Options tab right below your sign in name. You can click to drop the tab down. Look under Layout and change it from 2 columns to 1.
That fixed my issue.

I am having the same problem, and it doesn’t allow me to edit the slides. I need this fixed pretty quick.
