Just to clairfy, I am trying to keep the existing home page widgets, whilst adding some formatted text, including headings for SEO, on the home page as well.

Thanks for your reply. I tried posting that code into functions.php, but it had the effect of pulling all content from all other pages and posting that content onto the home page instead in one extended post.
Any tweaks to code suggested instead?
