First you have to choose “Grid” as your layout, the other choice is “Slider”. Directions for that can be found here:
https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Twenty_Fourteen

Then, you have to choose the posts that you want to feature and change their visibility to “Sticky”. Its under the “Publish” section of your post.

Thanks for the reply above. But on this example, https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/twentyfourteen/ – there are three content areas/images just underneath the main meu on top and above the videos on the right sidebar. Is there a special widget for that to show up?
