Dear Iancebc,
we have run mutiple tests on different WP installations to replicate the bug you mention in your comment but we have always been able to first de-activate and then fully remove the Riddle plugin.
Please reach out to [email protected] if you need help removing the plugin from your WordPress installation.
If you never signed up for an account on riddle.com and never made a quiz, I am not sure what you mean “when I push it, it breaks the page”. Without a connected Riddle account there is nothing you can push. The plugin gives you a shortcode to use on your posts or pages. The shortcode then loads the embed code for the respective Riddle from your connected riddle.com account.Hi there,
thank you for reaching out regarding this issue. Can you please confirm that you have our plugin version 4.5.4 installed (you can find the version when you go to the list of all your plugins.I just tested that version on a brand new WordPress site and got it to work, which leads me to believe that you may have either a security plugin that prevents the Riddle plugin from working on another plugin that creates a conflict with the Riddle plugin.
If you got the latest version of our plugin, there are 2 things you can do:
1) use the Riddle embed code without the plugin. Here is how: https://www.riddle.com/docs/creators/adding-a-quiz-to-a-gutenberg-block/
(note our leaderboard will not work without the plugin)2) install the health check plugin: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/health-check/ and use that to temporarily disable all other plugins except for Riddle. If the Riddle plugin works, enable the other plugins one by one to find the one that is causing the conflict. If you identify that one, let us know, so we can install that on our end and try to fix the incompatibility.
Also, please reach out to us using the chat function on riddle.com. That way we can help real time with any issue with our tools
Thank you for the fast reply Steven.
the funny thing is though, that we have been doing this for the past 3 or 4 years, where data was never overwritten if we made no changes to the /data directory. Also big thanks for the suggestion to move data to the uploads folder that is a great fix.
turns out the problem was another plugin – Instructor Role for Learn Dash. Why that in plugin only behaves in JP safe mode is a riddle to me, but that is a question for a different forum.
Wanted to express my gratitude to the JP support team. Amazing support via email. You rock! totally worth the yearly subscription fee to get this level of help (let alone all the great features in your Pro plan).
Thank you!Thank you for the fast reply fresatomica,
unfortunately, it turns out that Jetpack is causing the issue.
Disabling Jetpack or putting Jetpack into safe mode immediately resolves the issue.I cannot do that on my live site though as I am using Jetpack Premium to host and serve the videos on my site.
We have released a new version for our plugin that should address the issues you reported.
Thank you for your patience.Hi Jochen,
thank you so much for pointing this error out.
We are working on a plugin upgrade to fix this. All the best,
BorisHi again,
we have released a new version of our plugin (4.1.2) with the changes you suggested.thank you again for pointing out the errors in our code.
cheers
BorisDear Nashwan,
thank you so much for taking the time to list the issues you found with our plugin.I have passed this on to our development team and we will provide a plugin update to address these issues as fast as we can.
I will leave this topic open and notify you once that is done.
Best regards,
BorisHi there,
you can generate an embed code in your account on Riddle.com that you can use on virtually any kind of site that you own.
The plugin is essentially a shortcut to using our embed code. Adding Riddle content to sites that are not powered by WordPress is fairly easy and we have some documentation on how to do that here: https://www.riddle.com/blog/embed-online-quizzes-site/Hope this helps.
Dear Thomas,
we have followed your suggestion and released a new version of Riddle, which now adds a title tag to the iframe stating the nature of the content (Pop Quiz for example) and the name of the quiz as set by the author.Again, thank you for pointing this out. We try our best to provide a fully accessible quiz maker, but missed this important tag.
Cheers
BorisDear Thomas,
thank you for pointing this out. I will ask our team to add a title attribute with description to the iFrame. We have made sure that Riddles are accessible and have build quite a few features to ensure that, but we should not have missed this part.
I will get this added to our product asap.
Best regards,
BorisHey @richaber,
thanks for the additional info.We just pushed a new version of our plugin (version 3.11) and I was able to add the % character to my posts without any console errors now 🙂
Would be great if you could update the Riddle quiz maker plugin on your site and ping us if the error persists.
Cheers
BorisPS: I gave you a HT in the changelog for the new version. If you would rather not have your name in there lmk and I will take it out. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into letting us know about this bug and also thank you for your patience while we worked on a new version of the plugin.
Hi Richard,
thank you for reporting this bug you are seeing. I have tried and failed to replicate this bug on my test install. Would you be able to share a URL with me, where I can see this bug in action so that our developers can take a shot at fixing this for the next release? If you would rather not post the URL here, you can email us at [email protected] and just reference this forum.
Very sorry for this bug and the trouble it causes and thank you for taking the time to let us know about it.
Cheers
BorisHi El,
When using the interactive story, you need to choose for the entire story if you want to use custom result pages and then assign one of them to each result, or if you want to use the built in result pages.
You cannot mix the two types.
