Thank you Kathyrn, I’m trying not to get into creating a child theme… I added that line of code in the Jetpack plugin, but it didn’t change the size of the tagline in the header. Maybe “site-desription” is something else?
Really frustrating that the theme forces you to use only one size font for such an important part of the header. It looks dwarfed the way it is now…

Thank you Siobhan, that was it. I stumbled upon it somehow last night…
One other question. Can you tell me how to increase the site tagline that appears below the header image? I was in the CSS file, but couldn’t seem to get it right after adjusting a few of the font sizes I found under the header section.
