Thanks for this plugin, it is great!
In my installation (WP 3.4.2) it also displays at the top the number of the total amount of media.
It would good if we find a way to display the correct number or not display a number at all.

You have to activate CURL.
Just uncomment extension=php_curl.dll by removing ; on php.ini
Then restart the Apache server.
If you are using Xampp as a local server, you can usually find php.ini at:
c:\Xampp\php\php.ini
