It doesn’t seem to matter if I wait a few seconds or not. The only issue is on my mobile devices. The images were originally edited in WP and rotated and saved, then added to slider later. They are all displaying fine in Desktop version of site, but on mobile devices the slides that were rotated are displaying sideways (like before they were edited). Loading icon was already turned on. I tried saving slider “loading icon” option both on and off and no change in mobile version.
