Changing the widget settings fixed my problem as well. Thanks for your patience / support!
I can confirm this behavior. Same settings as dmatts. I have no more events scheduled for December, and my events in January of 2015 won’t show up unless I click “next.”
If I add an event for, say, Saturday, it shows up by default.
