You are right. It could be problem if these social platforms does not support it. Maybe there could be option that warns user of these downsides.
I also searched and found that now the facebook supports the uploads of avif that it converts into jpg, not sure if it support direct sharing.

Installing plugin by @bradvin work and solve the issues.
@bradvin, I did not find any thing in “Settings: Array”. Its empty.
