  • About 5-6 months ago WP overwrite appeared on my blog post screen saying something to the effect WP-cache had been released with a bug that screwed-up db retrieval. So uninstall the “old one,” download the new one from WP plugins, and then install/uninstall till it worked and the overwrite on the screen would disappear. That didn’t work for me, overwrite stayed-on.
So, I deleted WP-cache and the overwrite disappeared. Then, when, I downloaded and installed the new WP-cache, the overwritte disappeared again, so I left it that way. Seemed to work OK for me.

One other thought: check your Appearance/Menu function and ensure you are doing everything absolutely correctly.

I have 2 similar WP blogs under a common domain, one of the blogs still functions normally.
The other has the “Links changed to wp-content/uploads” problem, (apparently as a follow-on to the earlier WP-Cache dysfunction).

Today I used the WP Link Checker function to isolate the current problem i.e. multiple links for one page (and its Post predecessor) and one recent Post with links to the affected Page.
    I trashed them with difficulty.
I rebooted my desktop, and manually reentered the contents of the Page as a new Page with a new name, new menu, etc — no data continuity with the trashed items.

As of this writing, the “Links changed to wp-content/uploads” problem has not reappeared in my domain.

    Particulars:
The newly re-entered page is here:
    http://www.neibert.com/ikebana/freestyle-ikebana-by-yukiko/ikebana-wedding-theme/
    Unaffected companion blog: http://www.neibert.com/portfolio/
Host, formerly known as Yahoo (12 years), is now AaBaCo.
The Neibert.com/ domain software is Yahoo’s updated Sitebuilder; both blogs were originally installed by host Yahoo.
So, now I’m watching and waiting.
    Just waiting…
