I discovered that I had to go to the specific group > admin > docs and check the box that I want groups docs to be enabled for this group.Good luck

Thx for your reply, I will try it and will let here know if it worked for me as if I have my permalinks set to post name and I do not need the apply functionality.Did somebody find a solution yet?
I got the error messages (just before every category) after I activated the plugin and visited the restrict category pages. The error message disappears when I choose one or more categories.

newsA post will have always a combination of two categories: region south, best practice. I want to organize the posts per region.
I tried to work with the plugin and when I choose the categories for a role the error message disappears and the plugin works.
