Glad you like the plugin—and appreciate the kind words! You’ve hit on the two core forks of our roadmap with llms.txt: visibility to LLMs and utility for AI agents.

On the visibility side: yes, we’ve seen improvement in brand presence and inclusion in AI Overviews by adding llms.txt to both our own and client websites that already have existing organic traffic. That said, isolating the impact of the file itself is tricky, since LLMs rely heavily on broader trust signals—citations, social proof, etc.

I’d love to run a clean experiment on a test set of siloed websites, but that’s a heavy lift—it requires sites that are fresh, yet not so fresh they’re ignored for lacking authority. Eventually, we (or someone else) will build a proper LLM rank tracker with a better methodology behind it. For now, AIO visibility in SEMrush is your best bet. HubSpot and FalconRank have early tools you can experiment with, but both are still essentially in beta.

If you’re trying to track LLM referrals, there are a couple of options. GPT, for example, appends /?utm_source=chatgpt.com to outbound links, so if you’ve got GA4 set up, you may already see that traffic labeled clearly. For platforms like Perplexity, even without referral parameters, you can still track them under Reports > Acquisition > Traffic Acquisition in GA4—just filter for "perplexity.ai" as the session source. Creating a custom channel group in GA4 for “AI Referrals” is also worth considering if you want to keep tabs on traffic from emerging platforms.

Beyond traffic, we’re using the llms.txt file to support our own RAG workflows (and future product releases). It helps train and ground our AI voice and chat widgets, automate content generation, and standardize the data LLMs reference—so it’s not just about visibility, but also control and clarity.
