    I’ve just tried to unzip the folder after downloading it, and I’m getting some issues saying I don’t have permission.

    Any idea why?

    It won’t let me FTP it either.

    Just tested this theory out with another large publisher account on my site.

    This account is not an admin, but has authored 500 posts.

    Again the email times out with a 404 after the 5th call to admin-ajax.php.

    The 6th call fails, which makes me think it’s some kind of firewall/ security issue.

    Would love to hear if anyone has any ideas on this.

    @nickcadsoftuk – check your JS console, and see if you get the same thing.

    Thanks for this @allendav!

    So I can see lots of calls to admin-ajax.php – and the 6th call to this hits a 404.

    Now it’s not telling me what it’s trying to grab at this point – but the first 5 requests to admin-ajax.php get a 200 response, just fine.

    The 6th gets this 404.

    Are there any security processes in place that would stop more than 5 requests to admin-ajax.php from being made?

    Click on GDPR —> Tools —> Audit Logs

    Then paste the email address of the registered user. 🙂

    Tested this again, and I am now seeing an audit entry to say:

    ‘Privacy Policy has been updated. Removing the Privacy Policy consent and requesting new consent.’

    BUT… no entry is being created when the new policy has been accepted by the user.

    Hopefully we can get this fixed up today.

    @fclaussen – I’ve updated to 2.02 and the privacy bar now loads upon asking for reconsent – BUT… the consent is not logged in the audit log.

    It does show as privacy consent being given in the list of users in the ‘User’s” screen in the WP dashboard though.

    So, I’m guessing there is still a small bug with the audit log.

    Let me know when you’d like me to test it again.

    It’s really odd, because I have a replica of this site, as a staging site.

    The admin account on that site exports just fine.

    It’s only the admin account on the production site, which is having this issue.

    Both are running the same plugins. The only obvious difference is the size of the data that would be exported on production, compared to staging.

    Will do some more digging and report back!

    @iandunn – no, and if I manually go to that URL, it exists just fine.

    It’s all a bit bizarre.

    Anything else I could look into?

    All other exports seem to be working – just not this admin account.

    Thanks so much for the reply.

    Absolutely nothing showing in the php error log, but here’s a dump of the console.

    It’s over my head really – but something is causing this to throw a 404.

    Like I say, this is a very large admin account – sites I run with smaller ones and less data don’t have an issue.

    Nothing is hanging though – it’s not timing out or running out of memory by the looks of things. This error is thrown pretty quickly – and I’m on a dedicated server with plenty of overhead.

    Have a look and let me know if you have any ideas.

    @pidengmor – it’s just an export I’m trying, not an erase.

    Works for admins on my smaller sites.

    This is a big site where it’s failing though – with thousands of pages etc.

    Wondered if the size of the export was causing a failure?

    @pinchies – you will have seen the overlay as you were probably logged in as admin, installed the plugin and then visited a page on the front end.

    The policy shows as you hadn’t already accepted the terms, as your admin account was created BEFORE you installed the plugin.

    Once accepted, you won’t see it again unless the policy is edited and the reconsent button pressed.

    I don’t think the overlay looks ugly at all.

    It’s basic, but with my theme, it looks just fine.

    It’s functional and does exactly what it needs to.

    Look forward to seeing V2.0 though.

    This plugin is making GDPR compliance very easy!

    This plugin is brilliant for achieving consent tick boxes and lots more.

    Tried it today, all seems very solid and well supported.

    Yeah, I’d love to see this implemented into WP core too.

    I’d like to place a tick box, to allow people to consent to the privacy policy and join my email list.

    If this isn’t currently planned, does anyone know of the best terms of service plugin to achieve this. I’ve had a quick look, but many seem pretty old and possibly abandoned now.
