I figured it out. i placed the shortcode at the bottom of the page. It stopped working after I got rid of the shortcode all together. Everything was showing through so what i figured out was after the shortcode it stops trying to hide the things under so I put the shortcode at the bottom and it works fine now.
Removed and the problem still persists.
