Thanks Alan, I will give these a try. I think I was trying to do it using a query tool like within Drupal. This may be a much simpler solution.

UPDATE:
I saved the team-events.php in folder themes/rookie-child/sportspress and amended the code from DESC to ASC and it worked, thank you.
The original file was in plugins/sportspress/templates so I wasn’t sure if I needed the folder templates in the location I saved it.

Savvas, I have found team-events.php file in my plugins folder under sportspress. Do I simply copy this and place it under my child theme in the same named folder?
