I think I got the issue after submitting my response- Tell me one thing, do you load all images in Google Web Stories Left panel in one go? I can see hundreds of image fetch hit in network call which choke my server to respond.
e.g wp-json/web-stories/v1/media/1235/?_locale=user …. seems this happens for all images 1235/1234/1233/1232…….. 1000.. …… in sequence and choke CPU/RAM
