Rather strange. It appears a ” was changed to a ‘ in a code set in our header, which when reversed solved the problem.
Your switching of theme suggestion actually fixed the code and showed me the solution, many thanks.

We were able to get the host to monitor the site during our attempts at fixing it, bringing it back up should it go down. We’ve narrowed it down to Jetpack and Next Gen (regretted paying for this a long time ago). All 3 are currently disabled and the site is operating perfectly. May not bother to test to find the exact one. There’s a 2/3 chance its Next Gen and it’s not the first problem we’ve had with it.
Thanks again guys. Especially for the info about the text environment, that was a big help.
Just for the record Cata. We’ve on a managed VPS with the following specs:
RAM: 4GB
CPU Cores: 2
CPU MHz: 5,000
SSD Cached Storage: 100GB

In reply to: Bulk Remove Links/Strange 404 ErrorsJust wanted to add. I’m dubious about using another search and replace plugin as I don’t want the same problem to occur again and I never found one that listed all the changes prior to making the change.
I’ve also noticed a lot of strange 404 errors for things like
http://www.domain.com/category/post-name/author – No idea why the author is there, that’s not on the site anywhere.
http://www.domain.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/shutter/shutter-reloaded.js?ver=1.3.3
http://www.domain.com/wp-includes/js/comment-reply.min.js?ver=3.9.1 – No idea why these are indexed or what they do

In reply to: Mobile Menu Loading TwiceSorry, I should have probably mentioned that 😀 The theme provides an option to deliver a responsive version to certain users. I can turn it off and the normal page is displayed but this is almost as detrimental to the user experience as the broken mobile menu as the theme doesn’t scale very well on the default mode.

In reply to: Mobile Menu Loading TwiceThe theme’s demo site doesn’t use the mobile version when I visit on an Android/iOS device, it simply uses the traditional browser version so sadly I cannot test the menu there.
I did check websites listed on their page under “How our customers customize Puzzles”, third-party sites that all use the puzzles theme, and the error does not occur.

It’s the Puzzles Theme. If I recall correctly these forums don’t offer support for individual themes but I’ve literally exhausted every other option so was just hoping maybe someone had experience with something similar and could point me in the right direction 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Sadly I don’t have anything else to offer in regards to my personal site, it’s all offline and unavailable at the moment.
I am specifically looking to allow my visitors to visit a page where they can arrange posts from a single category into alphabetical order, use a search option for posts within a specific category and if possible, have a small version of the featured image in place with the title.

Our end goal is to allow our visitors to accumulate points while interacting with the website and our official stream and then if possible, use those points to bet on Twitch matches or enter giveaways. Long shot I know :/ lol

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch. We optimize all our images before uploading and resize to the smallest possible to fill the role we need within articles. However, we recently redone the entire site which required redoing all images and some were uploaded without proper optimization so I was hoping to use EWWW.
Although now I have no idea how the images are being renamed and such so I’ll need to look into that >.<
