Not sure why it stopped working, but I found that if I remove all the wordpress transients starting with “site_transient_rapid” that the plugin will retrieve in new tweets. Not sure if it will stop updating again or if this will have fixed the problem, but I’ll keep an eye on it and see.
Definitely needs custom post type support. I’m using Relevanssi for search indexing which supports custom post types. Relevanssi + Autocompleter works brilliantly, but custom post type support would be the icing on the cake.
Guess I’ll modify the plugin and prevent updates for the time being.
