More info:
WP (2025 theme) and the plugin are up to date. (I’ve been logging in by first going to my host and disabling the plugin via the WP admin of Softaculous, and then enabling it after Iogging in.)
I just noticed that WP’s original login page remains. Don’t know how long that’s been the case. I verified that the plugin was enabled, as above. (The hidden login page is still affected by the weird look and inability to proceed after submitting the username and password.)
