I never found anything else causing the same issue and once I removed it, my editor would come back. I can’t remember where I found it, somewhere while googling, but it said it couldn’t work with the latest wordpress version without disabling the visual editor.
I just found something else. Much more difficult, but I couldn’t use that plugin. I need the visual editor.

So–Popular Posts plug-in is not working either.
Same problem for me. Plus, I have the stats “Most Popular Post” plug-in on the front page of my website and it is not working either because the stats plug-in is not rendering popular posts/or searches any longer.
