I’m hoping that twice having problems in a couple of months isn’t the norm. 😉 I really do wonder why it seems that it was just HostGator people who experienced this.

1. I’ve downloaded the corrected version of the theme, and it’s in a folder called “customizr-2”.
2. I should FTP this up to my site in wp-content > themes and replace the customizr folder that is there, leaving my child theme in place.Is that correct? Thanks!

In reply to: [Customizr] "preview" doesn't load imagesHow odd! You saw them for more than a second or two, right? I can’t get them to show up, even on my iPad, iPhone, or even on my husband’s Mac. They show for a second or two, then abruptly “turn off” and are replaced by place holders. This happens in Safari and in Firefox.

In reply to: [Customizr] "preview" doesn't load imagesI have no idea whether this is theme-specific, since it’s the only theme I’ve used. I never found another that would easily allow me to set it up the way I liked. :S I’m pretty new at WP, which probably shows rather obviously.
At any rate, I went ahead and published a post so you could see what I’m facing. The featured photo on my home page is doing the same thing as the post itself.

In reply to: [Customizr] "preview" doesn't load imagesOkay, I published the new post and then had to delete it right away, as the small images didn’t show up at all — not even the featured image on the home page. I’ll have to rewrite it when/if the issue can be solved, but that’s not a problem.
The only plugins I have installed are these, and I don’t have any idea whether they are incompatible; they were fine up to now, of course:
Akismet 3.1.3
Jetpack 3.6.1
Pinterest “Pin It” Button Lite 2.1.0.1
WP Super Cache 1.4.4
WP to Twitter 3.1.2Any further clues? Again, my blog is here.

I downloaded the Customizr-Child theme and installed the zipped download to my Dashboard, as per the instructions. My blog now looks exactly the same as before, and I’ve double-checked to be sure that the Child Theme is definitely in place.
So, is it safe to go ahead now and update Customizr without losing my customizations?

In reply to: [Customizr] Updating to Customizr 3.3.15 from 3.3.13 — confusedThanks again for your further reply, rdellconsulting. My site is a blog, so it changes as I add new posts, though I haven’t changed how it’s formatted.
I made a lot of changes back in January, 2015, when I created the site, but I could go through all of the various settings and try to duplicate them. I did look at wp-content/themes/customizr, and the date there is 3/23/2015.
I’ve exported a copy of my blog, using the Export function in Tools in my Dashboard; I”m guessing I could always restore from that, if I royally mess up in trying to figure out this Child Theme thing, right? The only thing I’m not certain about is whether it also exported the media files — mostly photos — that I have on the blog, as it doesn’t specifically say that it does so.

Next question: is there any reason why it would be a problem *not* to update?
