I have just had this same problem.
Payment account for auto renewal had money in it.
I cannot help but feel this was set up to push people out of the old subscription and on the new ones, sadly.
It has been very disappointing.
Did they only offer you a new subscription as well, and deleted the payment settings so you have to re enter?

Having an issue with the Aloha Powerpack and recent Elementor update for the Bellevue Hotel Booking theme.
Cannot edit the Elementor pages – constant loading icon over the editor panel for Elementor.
Elementor have advised that I contact the Plugin Author. If you need help from them, they can open an issue on their Github account, and their developers will be happy to assist.
