“Jetpack Publicize uses its own applications (named “WordPress.com”) to publish to your connected Social networks. This way, you do not need to create a Developer account and create your own applications for each Social Network.
Unfortunately, that means that each post is posted by an application named WordPress.com instead of using your blog name for example. If you’d like to use your own applications, you will have to use a different plugin.”

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Publicize to FacebookAppreciate the reply, Gestroud. But not sure I follow the question. Unless I’m missing something (which is a definite possibility), I don’t see where I have a choice between the site’s funtion of WP.me.
But just for sake of testing purposes, I did deactivate the WP.me module in JetPack, but that seems not to have any affect. The result remains as originally described.
Should Shortlink choices be expected to play a role here? I’ve been under the impression a shortlink isn’t (can’t be?) created until a post is actually published.(?) Which, to my way of thinking would mean it wouldn’t be available at the time the post is created & sent to FB.(??)

In reply to: wp 3.1 permalinks still broken after many trys with fixes describedThis is NOT a theme issue. I have a completely fresh v3.1 installation w/ only the default TwentyTen theme and am having exactly the same issue. If I use anything other than the default permalink option, I get 404 errors for any ‘POage’ that is added.
This has started today with the fresh install that includes the ability to install ‘JetPack’.
I had an earlier 3.1 installation that did not exhibit this problem.
