In reply to: [Responsive] Featured Content Not Displaying ImageIt seems to be working now and I didn’t make any further changes, so not sure why it wasn’t working. If anyone has any ideas why, I would be interested to hear them.
Thank you for your response Alin, and I apologize for my delay in responding. The next time I logged in, the dashboard was working, so am not sure if the updates that were released after I made my posting fixed it, but either way, I’m glad it is working!
My cousin just confirmed that he was able to download the dmg file through EDD, so that plugin must have affected it somehow (even though I thought the purpose of it was for uploads.) Thank you for your willingness to help me!
Do you think adding that plugin and mime type would resolve a download issue?
Thank you for the fast response Pippin. I already had this set as redirect as I was having problems with all file types for forced downloads.
I added the plugin “WP Add Mime Types” after I made my posting as per another forum thread I found & added the value “dmg = application/octet-stream”. After that, I manually uploaded the dmg file to a subfolder of public_html/wp-content/uploads/edd/, updated the download url, then tried the download again from a resent purchase receipt, and it worked. I was surprised. I am waiting to hear if my cousin has any issues when he tries as he is helping me test a few things.
Hello Pippin,
I sent you the exact URL for my site using your contact form at https://pippinsplugins.com/contact/
I can appreciate having an archive view of the products published on my site, but I don’t want people to easily access the free products. Someday I plan to have more than one software program available for sale and I also don’t want to show downloads for the different programs at the same time.
Thank you,
SarahThank you again Pippin. That didn’t seem to resolve the issue either?!? I added the two lines of code at the bottom of the wp-config.php file that is within the public_html folder, but it still doesn’t prevent the loading of the page at http://mydomain.com/downloads/
Some other items that I don’t know if they would have an impact:
– I reverted the change to the functions.php file that didn’t resolve my issue
– I deleted the redirect previously created (as per referenced link in my original posting) since I got the impression from the forums that the most current version of the plugin should take care of that aspect
– I have an SSL certificate that currently applies to the entire site vs. to specific areas/pagesWow, I really appreciate your timely response Pippin! I added the code you sent me the link to at the bottom of the functions.php file in my wp-content > wp-themes folder, but it still doesn’t prevent the loading of the http://mydomain.com/downloads/ page. I tried clearing the cache as well (Safari browser). Was that the correct file to edit?
Thank you!
