In reply to: [Responsive] Update from 4.0.3 to 4.2.1 ruined my site@cyberchimps why would you accept that an update of a widely used theme such as yours after years of flawless (or fixed, in a case I recall) updates would suddenly kill carefully developed designs? This will probably prevent more sites than just ours from updating. Currently planning a new web project, and this practice would discourage me to use Responsive for it…

In reply to: [Responsive] Update from 4.0.3 to 4.2.1 ruined my site@cyberchimps @mica123 just in case this helps narrow down where this went off rails – I have v3.7 working, and running the Responsive theme on the site since 2012 without prior such update issues

In reply to: [Responsive] Update from 4.0.3 to 4.2.1 ruined my site@cyberchimps just tried the v4.3.5 update, and while it removed the error, the resulting site’s design is completely broken. Like – too many issues to even start listing them. π This is NOT backward compatibility. Could you please fix the theme so it will continue to work?

In reply to: [Responsive] Update from 4.0.3 to 4.2.1 ruined my siteThanks @mica123 – I currently would not think that it will be in the developers’ interest to stop providing downward compatibility on such a critical level. I expect it was just an oversight that will be corrected, even if it takes an iteration or two to fix back – right @emiluzelac & @cyberchimps ?

In reply to: [Responsive] Update from 4.0.3 to 4.2.1 ruined my site@emiluzelac @cyberchimps I just ran into the same issue on http://de.chclt.net/ running a Responsive child theme – trying to update from 3.7 to 4.2.4 ruined the entire site, publicly only showing this error. Reverted to 3.7 and hoping for a fix in the theme so I can continue staying up-to-date…

In reply to: Is there a way to disable the new Media Manager?I find the new Media Manager so sluggish, so I included all your suggestions @a.Morita. Most things work well enough, except the following:
For files uploaded through the old media manager re-activated this way, I can only insert the smallest (150×150) and the original image size.
For files uploaded through the new media manager, I can use all usual sizes to insert – regardless whether I do this then through the new or old interface, as long as I did use the new interface for the upload itself.
Any ideas what this could be, and how this could be fixed?

In reply to: "HTTP error" when uploading imagesI got a solution with my host’s support: they recommended to chmod uploads to 777 which I didn’t want to do, but I found in the process that a combination of stopping to grant PHP user access through .htaccess (by running CGI mode) and giving instead site ownership to www-data solved it without 777.
Still not sure why this works different than before…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: "HTTP error" when uploading imagesNo, it seems I only can access them the next day – any cues you’d be looking for?
