Resolved, thanks to several hours of work by my favorite Airman – the site would not recognize “Root” as a valid user, but he figured it out. Thank you.

I originallly tried to post on WordPress – how did it end up in WooReer?

OK, so what is the right forum? AWS is not being helpful, and suggested I go to the ww.wp.xz.cn forums for an answer. I am dizzy from being sent back and forth, and I still can’t get my password reset. Thank you.

By the way – this is NOT resolved!!

The problem with that solution is that I cannot find the CPanel (Control Panel) in my AWS console – even searching for “CPanel” yields no results, other than a way to get a new Key Pair – which as fas as I can tell is a way to access the running instance for the website. Amazon’s solution is to sign up for a support package since they have no idea what is going on and would have to research. Is WordPress really supposed to be this difficult, or is it that I am using AWS as a host?

I am also confused about your statement that “this plugin has nothing to do with your Admin password.” I can’t log into the back office on my WordPress and edit my blog – and as near as I can tell there is a second level password and username needed to do so, that I cannot reset the password for and that will not accept the password I recorded and have used before. I can log into the stats, but I can’t edit or post. Is my WordPress just plain broken?
