I just switched back to the recommended plugin and the pop-up-window from paypal does not close directly after opening. So the problem might be fixed.
Unfortunately right now I cannot make a full test.

I used this plugin from WooCommerce:

On Friday I switched to the “standard” PayPal method which is described here – this works:
https://woocommerce.com/document/paypal-standard/
(There is also said that this method is outdated and recommended to use the plugin mentioned above.)
Do you think your fix does resolve my problem too?
