In reply to: request exceeded the limit of redirectsThanks for the suggestion. I tried the edit. It didn’t make anything worse, but it didn’t change anything.
I also tried changing that section to this:
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]Same results. Nothing broke, but didn’t help.
I also tried to take out ?wp-admin$, from the above code. Same thing. So, I’ll just have to play with it.

In reply to: redirect issue after creating wordpress.confI did manage to create a vhost that is working. At least for 1 site. This server will be supporting 5 sites, so now I am onto how to do 1 vhost file for 5 sites.
I am doing this on red hat, no option for ubuntu. But, I might still be able to make use of wordops. Thanks

In reply to: wp spam redirect when not logged inThat may be possible, so far, everything is behaving itself. Still working on stuff, but so far it is acting as it should. Hanging onto the horseshoe.

In reply to: wp spam redirect when not logged inExcellent, I will read through that.
I bit the bullet and loaded a backup. Dropped on wordfence and wp cerber to lock things down somewhat, for now. Removed a possible offending account. Dumping old plugins.
But I am still going to go through that guide. I am sure I’ll find some good info. Thanks again.

In reply to: wordpress creating too many connectionsAnyone else have any thoughts on this?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: wordpress creating too many connectionsOh, it is by far not the best site, nor most visited. Plus, it just started that morning, all of a sudden. So, either there were some sort of ddos happening, or a content manager is having some sort of issue. Pretty sure it isn’t a ddos, so it has to be something happening between the wp instance and its associated database.

In reply to: backing up and restoring certain usersDo you know the guide I could look at for this? I haven’t seem to have found it yet.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: backing up and restoring certain usersOk, I’ll try it this way, I’m not always up on terminology sometimes.
I have a primary site, blog.com, lets say. Under that would be sub-sites I guess they would be called. So, blog.com/user1, blog.com/user2, ect.
I have a large number that are old, and I want to delete just those. That part shouldn’t be much of an issue. But I’d like to back up just those ones I am deleting, in case I need to restore one of them. While NOT touching current sites.I probably should have led with something like this.

In reply to: backing up and restoring certain usersOk, would either of these methods allow me to cherry pick the sites I want to back up? If so, do you have a link that I could read up on this? I’ve been looking, but I haven’t found anything for doing backups or restoring only certain sites. I don’t want to just restore everything, as that would wipe out changes active user have made.
Thank you for your time!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: backing up and restoring certain usersIt would be individual sites.
