Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Genesis Simple Edits] Why is StudioPress Synthesis Hosting saying…Their note to me says:
[WARNING] genesis-simple-edits plugin last update was 18 months ago. Please make sure it is compatible with current WordPress version. If not, remove it.
The reason for these recommendations is that too many plugins can hinder performance while inactive or out-of-date plugins can provide a security vulnerability for your site. We do monitor the sites we host for security vulnerabilities, but it is a good habit to delete inactive plugins and make sure those you use are up to date.

I have gone ahead and made the changes in my functions.php file, so was able to delete the plugin anyway. You can take it up with SP why they’re telling me there’s a problem if that’s not correct.
I’m running both Yoast SEO and Simple Press on my site and with WP SEO activated, it breaks my theme on the Forum page. http://scottadennison.com/forum/
As you can see the forum loads above the header image – anyone have any idea as to what’s happening and how to go about fixing it?
I ended up deleting and reinstalling the previous version 1.4.3 and now all works just fine. Seeking input from @http://profiles.ww.wp.xz.cn/robfelty/ to address the XSS errors issue that comes with the latest version.
As a power user/blogger, trying to move stories from Google reader, via IFTTT to Postie and to my blog, I would be excited to hear that he’s decided to monetize his project with a pro level at a Buffer type price (Awesome is $10/mo).
What say you Mr Felty?
Sorry D – never got a reply from Joost DeValk. I don’t think he even supports the plugin anymore.
I’ve dumped salesforce as an unworkable pile o dog mess (for a small, one-man business, anyway) and am now setting myself up with Solve 360 for CRM and taking their recommendation to use Google apps to make the contact form. Yes, its possible to add a captcha to it.
Good luck…
