    Hi @davidanderson,

Just an update, re: EUM de-activation. I’ve had the plugin de-activated now for a few days & during this time we have not received a single update email. This appears to imply that EUM does seem to have a bearing on whether or not we receive update emails (it appears it does, contrary to what it should?)

Anyhow, I’m assuming that when I re-enable the plugin the emails will start to be delivered again but, for now, I will re-activate the plugin but leave the enable update email option switched off. Hope this information helps?

    Regards

    Hi @davidanderson,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve not actually tried de-activating EUM completely, but I will now. Previously, I’d only toggled the enable/disable core update notification emails options, which does have an effect on whether the emails are sent (as expected.)

I’ll report my findings here, once I’ve de-activated the EUM plugin and received an update email(s?) from WP.

    Thanks.

    Hi @dnutbourne,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve had a look at all of the plugins that are installed – and active on the site but cannot see anything obvious that suggests any of these are affecting the emails. I performed this process by looking at each individual plugins options/settings pages.

However, I’m not the original site developer (my personal WordPress development experience is essentially zero.) I’m essentially the site’s caretaker (looking after the hosting web server (IIS), installing updates, etc.) So please forgive me if I may have missed something.

I have compiled a comprehensive list of all installed plugins, their version numbers & whether or not they are currently active on the site. I can supply this list, if required, to assist you in tracing any potential issues at your end. Please let me know if you wish to see it.

Once again, thanks in advance for looking at this issue for us.

    Kind regards.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply @bcrodua. It looks like we have the latest version of EUM plugin installed (8.0.5?) Although I understand our WordPress version isn’t the latest.

I have a screenshot of the email contents, as requested but cannot see how I can email it to you, via this forum(?)

To explain it though, I am receiving the following contents in an email:

    ————————->

    subject:

“[Concept Energy] WordPress 5.2.2 is available. Please update!”

    contents:

“Please update your site at https://conceptenergy.org to WordPress 5.2.2.

Updating is easy and only takes a few moments:

This gets sent five times, as separate emails, approx every 12 hours.

    Regards,

    Scott
