OK, Google saved me. You may already know this but leaving a comment in case any other WP newbies get bit by a problem like this…
Using FTP, go to the wp-content –> plugins folder. Inside is a folder for each plug in. Rename the folder of the offending plugin and the site will launch again.

I have just developed this SAME problem and I am locked out of front end and back end of my site. It is off line. How can I use ftp or whatever to remove your plugin and get my site back???
