In reply to: 3.4 broke my dashboard

Major trouble after I installed 3.4

All is fixed… With some investigation using Google this is what was wrong with my blog and this was how I fixed it.

    The Problems

A PHP line 307 error relating to the DB
Dashboard wasn’t updating. Items like Web Development, Plugin updates were stuck in limbo. Loading …. Loading… Loading
JeckPack stats wouldn’t work. Just kept spinning.
Widgets won’t move so I couldn’t redesign the page.
    Solution

I use myRepono Backup Plugin (this saved my butt) and installed my backup. I went back to 3.32.
Throw out all plugins I wasn’t using
Throw out Google Analytics (Found a clue that might be why my widgets weren’t moving)
Deactivated all my plugins that I wanted to keep.
    Disconnected JetPack from WordPress
    Reinstalled WordPress 3.4
Check to see if all was OK and it was.
Activated my caches and DB plugins. Still worked.
Activated all the other plugins. Still worked.
Reconnected JetPack to WordPress and it worked.
    Happy Camper …. with 3.4.

    Good luck!

Basicly since I uploaded 3.4 … My dashboard’s Incoming Links, Plug-ins, WordPress Development and one other items remaining in constant loading mode. Jetpack stats doesn’t work even though I updated Jetpack to 1.4.2. Disappointing. Got rid of all my plugins that I am not using. Restarted Jetpack… All to no avail.

Unfortunately… there seems not to be enough of an explanation how to set it up. I will have to look at the instruction again and will try to be more articulate. I think I need to create a seperate page… My hope was to embed the Google map in every page. I am working on a project that will locate lost items that are photographed around a lake.

    Hi Folks…

I am having a problem or two. First, you’ll see personalized the theme a bit. The CSS are very nicely done and organized. Thanks.

I can’t seem to get the theme to recognize catagories within the links. Is this possible to fix?

Then IE 5.5 is treating the my site badly. If your in Firefox or Safari everything is peachy keen but in IE 5.5 for MAC the rollover are funky and the comment have the icon repeating over the date. http://www.artchangeslives.com/pages/problem.htm

Could someone please check-out my site in IE 6.0? The CSS may work better on a PC.

Hi… if you go to my site http://www.artchangeslives.com using in Firefox or Safari and compare it to the screen shot in the above message you’ll see that in the menu-bar the rollovers change the color in the whole cell instead of just a portion.

Then if you like at the comment bar under the posting you will see that in IE an icon repeats multiple times over the date.

IE 5.5 is for Mac… The friendly folk at MicroSoft stop making IE for Mac when Apple introduced its own browser Safari.
Hence, no IE 6.0 for the Mac.

I am hoping that these CSS issues aren’t a problem in IE 6.

Thank you… thank you… lazy gallery was not the solution. It worked well but I was looking for a solution like Exhibit. Appreciated the heads up.

Hi… I took asy and there were no directions… so I ended up with 1.1d. I can’t get it to work… and I’ve posted a couple questions. No one has offered help.

    Good luck.

OK… it seems I’ve got most of it in place… the images upload in the image folder… no errors appear … I can see them in their directories below the insert image box. The comments appear in the field where the reply or the edited message goes… but no image is linked to the dialog box or the insert box…

    Any ideas?

    Hello–

I just downloaded this plug-in Exhibit… but I can’t find any instructions to load it. I am guessing it goes into the plug-in folder. Can anyone tell me what to do after that? Thanks.
