    Based on the spammy sign-ups, my initial thought would be yes. But not really. Thank you for the clarification on that check box, though. That’s helpful!! I guess it would eliminate the problem in one way… I may use it as a temporary solution.

    Yes, of course. I know that. That’s what I was testing. (Hence, my confusion.) I went on and clicked “follow” and entered my personal e-mail address as well as another unassociated work address. No indication of confirmation (either on screen or by e-mail. Nothing is “taking.” Wouldn’t that be a “subscription” or does it have to be to the RSS feed? We want people to be able to follow by e-mail if they’d like.

    So that takes me back to wondering what’s wrong. And do I need to activate full Jetpack or just the Follow button, as I’ve done?

    Yes. That’s what I was referring to. Should have been more specific. And definitely made sure I selected “all users” too.

    That may have worked, but leads me to follow-up questions:

    I installed both Jetpack and Follow Button for Jetpack but activated ONLY the Follow Button. Do I need to activate both? One versus the other?

    I tested the (new) Follow Button w/ two of my own e-mail addresses and I don’t get an error message, but I also can’t see any new subscribers on our list. Also, I received no confirmation of subscription at either address. So I don’t know if it actually worked.

    I’m usually pretty good at figuring this stuff out. Typically, I’m not at such a loss…

    Thanks, esmi. Is there any way to get pointed in the general direction of some plugins that work? The first one I tried did not. Is there anything I should look for in the plug-in description? Thanks again!
