In reply to: [Genesis Responsive Slider] “read more” on “display post excerpts”Thanks…this is a step in the right direction. I’m able to show the read more link now, but I would like it to use the slider styling. Any insight there?
I appreciate it…

In reply to: [Events Made Easy] Events Made Easy Calendar Widget To Single Event PageSorry if I’m misunderstanding you or missing something, but I have no idea how to update to 1.6.17 to take advantage of your edit. Will that be in the next update or something?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Events Made Easy] Events Made Easy Calendar Widget To Single Event PageI let this lapse for a while…thanks for your response. Let me clarify what’s happening.
1) I’ve created an event, the only event for that day on the calendar widget…and “show single event” is active.
2) I’ve added a url in the section entitle “External Link” on the event itself. “If this is filled in, the single event URL will point to this url instead of the standard event page.”
3) The events page, listing all the upcoming events, links correctly to the external URL.
4) The link on the calendar widget (only event for that day) does not link to the external URL, but links to the single event page.. This is the problem. I need the calendar widget to link to the external URL.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] validator errorHi Jeff,
Sorry for the delayed response here…I am seeing the aggregate stars on results from review sites like yelp for instance, but not this site. I’ve tried both logged in and out of google.
I wish I had a suggestion for you…maybe if there was an option to turn on/off the display:none I might experiment with it, but not critical.
Thanks,
Sam

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] validator errorHi Jeff, and thanks. I’m not seeing the stars in the search results I pull up, but there they are. Hmmm, so for your idea to turn on/off: what would that look like? For example, I’m using the sidebar widget…would the aggregate display below each review or something?
Bottom line…if it works, it works. Any idea why I can’t get the same search results?
Thanks much!
Sam

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] validator errorHi Jeff,
Great progress on this plugin…wondering if you’ve made any headway on the above issue related to aggregate reviews and Google.
Love to get these ratings appearing in search results.
Thanks much,
Sam

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] validator errorSorry Jeff, the home page won’t do it (no reviews showing)… go here instead or any internal page: http://www.leitnerconstruction.com/kitchen-remodel/

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] hReview markupThanks, got that. I think with the aggregate markup, it gets the job done perfectly for me. I think I will look for a way to show stars instead of 5 out of 5. There’s some information here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/172705?hl=en if you go that route.
Thanks for your responsiveness!

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] hReview markupOne more thing that might be related:
If you visit the 1sst link above, you’ll note these errors associated with my site. I believe it’s due to multiple reviews being present on the page via the sidebar slider widget…Google needs the aggregate markup. more info: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/146645?hl=en#Aggregate_reviews
Error: No rich snippet will be generated for this data, because it appears to include multiple reviews of an item, but no aggregate review information. More information about aggregate reviews.
Error: This information will not appear as a rich snippet in search results, because it is contained in a hidden HTML element. Except in special circumstances, Google won’t display content that is not visible to the user. You should mark up the text that actually appears to your users when they visit your web pages.
Cheers

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] hReview markupWell, outstanding…I’m officially in your fan club. Hey, so help me troubleshoot a bit, if you would. In the validator tool, I’m seeing the schema “review”, but not “rating”. Here’s what I’m seeing:
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.leitnerconstruction.com%2Fkitchen-remodel-contractor%2FHere’s an example google uses:
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yelp.com%2Fbiz%2Falma-pan-latin-kitchen-pittsburghAm I missing something? I applied a rating to each of the reviews on that site, and the reviews themselves are getting picked up but not the value of the rating.
Thanks for the response…I’ll get a shout out to you up on my blog soon.

In reply to: [HMS Testimonials] hReview markupWell, I’m thinking of something like these:
http://codecanyon.net/item/testimonials-showcase-wordpress-plugin/6588139
http://authorhreview.com/customer-testimonials/However, it’s most important to me that the markup is passed to search engines for aggregation into local search results.
Thanks for the quick response.
