I just started with the export and import tools in WordPress Tools, then mysql for doing some tweaking to the new databases and downloading/uploading. I had to download the database from the old site and do a one-and-done find and replace all to change the url for the images to the new site. Backed up the database when I started, then a couple more times in the process. I had to do some searching in my host’s wiki and in ww.wp.xz.cn forums since it’s been so long since I have played with databases.

Some of the recipes are not showing up on the page and there seems to be an issue with images causing that, so I’m now working on fixing that. Thankfully, there are only 28 recipes. Once I get everything worked out, I will deactivate ZipList and will install Zip Recipes. I’ll probably finish this up by the end of the week as I work on it here and there.

Love the premium features you are cooking up! I will be sure to share this with a couple of friends who were/are using Ziplist.

Yep, that’s what I was thinking from the start but was kind of hoping I wouldn’t have to mess with because I’m a little lazy: the database tables would need to be moved over. No problem, I got this.

Thank you for your help. It’s awesome how responsive you are to questions. I just tried to make a donation at http://www.ziprecipes.net/donate, but the page says “This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it? It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.” Let me know if that’s fixed and I can at least buy you a latte. Or a beer. 🙂

Thank you! Unfortunately, while the posts imported just fine, the recipes did not. I suppose I’ll have to FTP the recipes to the new site to get them to show up…just a guess.
