You can set both images “Header & Featured” using WordPress Advanced Custom Field “ACF”
And if you want to show the header image on the single post page then you have to customize the single post page. Because your default single post page doesn’t allow it to show on additional fields like the header image.
I can configure everything for you but I am not sure it will work with WordPress’s XML-RP.
Probably you have to create Posts/Blogs via WordPress directly.
Maybe your theme doesn’t support what you want. You have to make a menu via plugin.
