I can now safely say the problem with the maps turn into grey in colour is simply because of the upgrade of the plug in from 2.2.6 to 2.2.7. Fortunately, I still have the 2.2.6 on my other site. I delete and re-install 2.2.6 and the maps are now back to normal. Why isn’t Huge-IT aware of it in the first place? No idea.
Not that I don’t want to fix the problem, as said I opened the frontend.js but couldn’t find the lines of code to delete. So the problem remains. I am forced to start looking for another plug in…
I used it for 2 sites so far 1 has turned grey. The other one is fine. I’m not sure if it is a plug in issue or something else. Only front end maps turn to grey. The maps are fine in the backend when you’re doing the editing.
I can’t find those lines in the file.
Actually I tried everything I can think of: changed the theme, deactivated all plugins except the google map, even tried on another site with a fresh download of the plugin and all produced the same effect. It seems suddenly any map I produce on my computer using your plug in turns into grey scale! The map is in grey scale but the markers are in the correct colour. I also registered a new API but no help.
I tried other map plugins, they are all fine. Since I made many maps with your plugin, I don’t want to change. To be honest, your plugin is one of easy to use so far. So I like to resolve it.
