Thank you Abz, this worked for me. Very annoying that a switch off of the button is not hard coded in. The button does not work well.

thanks, I tried your suggestions and nothing worked. The Mscan log file is not reading a scan except maybe the initial activation of a scan and no reports, the pop-up window dialogue seems to keep going. I deactivated all plugins and it actually showed progress but still nothing on the log.
Is there a way to uninstall and remove everything from the .htaccess file and all plugin files then reinstall?
