    Thank you James.

    when i double-click install.php on my mac it opens up text editor.
    But it’s not clear to me what i do next.

    this looks like the first relevant sentence in the text editor:

    <p>WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned off.</p>

    What do i do with that instruction?
