Are you willing to test the current development version with Polylang? Currently I’m not having access to SVN here. I’ll upload the current development version the next few hours.

macht aus meiner Sicht relativ wenig Sinn, aber in Version 2.1, die bald verfügbar sein wird, gibt es eine Option, dass kein 404 Fehler ausgelöst wird, wenn man die Seite direkt aufruft, d.h. es ist dann auch möglich die Seite für etwas anderes zu verwenden – auch als Startseite. Allerdings würde ich den Besucher schon irgendwie informieren, dass es die gewünschte Seite nicht gibt…

@oshber: sadly it’s impossible to promise that there will never be compatibility issues in future versions. But now there are two modes and standard mode will always follow the WordPress best practice for handling the 404 template. In compatibility mode I’ll try to fix known compatibility issues with themes and plugins that do not allow to handle the 404 template the “WP way”. That’s out my hands…

In reply to: [Smart Custom 404 Error Page] Seit Update 2.0 keine 404 Seite mehrEs gibt eine aktualisierte Entwicklungs-Version unter https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/404page.zip. Bei dieser kann man nun zwischen Standard Modus und Kompatibilitäts Modus umschalten, wobei Standard Modus die in den 1.x Versionen verwendete Methode ist und der Kompatibilitäts Modus die Methode von Version 2.0. Seid bitte so gut und testet auch diese Variante. Danke.

Would you please test again the latest dev build https://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/404page.zip? This allows to choose between “Standard Mode” (which is the v1.x method) and “Compatibility Mode” (which is the v2.0 method) – and some more.

Maybe the changes I’ve made for SiteOrigin’s Page Builder also solve this problem. Please test it and let me know.
