    I do not use gmail.

Does the filename show in the sent gmail text?

Do you attach the image in the gmail text box or as an attachment? This makes a difference for me.

My email adds unwanted text also. Did you try the start and end of message settings? (Can be found under postie settings “message”). In your case something like .jpg] for start message

If you only just need the image: https://postieplugin.com/downloads/image-only-addon/

If you want images and text, this might help: https://postieplugin.com/downloads/clean-html-addon/

The Website you posted is not loading for me in two out of three attempts and very slowly on the third attempt. Looks like a timeout due to PHP limitations caused postie to stop – meaning you’d need to fix the PHP before postie can work correctly on your installation.

I do not have multiple attachments. Only one incoming email comes with a one page pdf attachment. Generally: If postie handled pdfs (the first page of the pdf) like images it will select the first page of the pdf as featured image if the .pdf was the first attachment?

I set up a free wordpress.com blog (standard English) and there the magic is not happening. I cannot manually upload a .pdf to featured image.
Now I assume it might be the language kit. Sadly I wasn’t able to figure out how to install the language kit on wordpress.com yet to check.

If I understand this article correctly: https://make.ww.wp.xz.cn/core/2016/11/15/enhanced-pdf-support-4-7/ imagick is a core function which once enabled can be accessed. It must either be build into my language pack or my installation packs and by coincidence every installation pack I ever used on our 4 different webhosts since 4.7 has this pre-enabled.

Thanks for investigating this with me!

I wasn’t able to find out which server specific software is doing this for me. I tried a different webhost and did the same with a blank install (storefront and twenty nineteen) and also without additional plugin, a featured image is created if I upload the .pdf manually to the post.

Oh sorry, I had thought it is implemented by now. A change in WordPress (creating an image from the first page of a .pdf automatically) – so I thought this is what is happening.

I set up two installation from scratch today. One with storefront and one with twenty nineteen and both times this is happening for me without a plugin.

Might be a script my webhost is running for me without my knowledge. I will ask them.

Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.

Oh alright, so it is pure luck the old form works fine. I will reach out to soflyy.
    Thanks for your feedback, Kevin.
    Much appreciated 🙂

Hi Kevin, I‘m sorry. Its WP All Import Pro Woocommerce Add-On. As I understand the documentary I cannot import Special characters via .csv .

And the woocommerce contact form shortcode starts:

    [contact-form to=„[email protected]“ subject=„

And so forth. Error message is:“Post Content Template invalid“

    Thanks for your reply,
    Sandra

    Hi Kevin,
I use cf7 for an enquiry Form in my Old wc (insert shortcode in product Description) I work on a Website Update now and wc offers the build in Contact Form. Which Id Love to use. However the new shortcode has my (the recieving) E-Mail adress in it. How can a non coder like I am import from .csv with a @ – symbol in the Product Description? Regards, Sandra
