In reply to: [Widgets for Google Reviews] No a minimum usable free versionI’m sorry but from a user perspective, calling this a free plugin is misleading. Yes, technically you can keep it forever and display up to 10 reviews, but let’s be honest, for any real business that actually wants to show its reputation, this limit makes it practically useless.
That means the so-called “free” version is nothing more than a trial/demo for the paid product. The core functionality (displaying all your reviews) is locked behind a paywall, so unless you’re happy showing just 10, you’ll quickly hit a wall and have wasted your time installing, configuring, and testing it.
Other plugins offer a genuinely usable free tier plus premium upgrades. This one does not, it’s a sales funnel disguised as freeware.

In reply to: [Widgets for Google Reviews] No a minimum usable free versionThanks but I’m not providing feedback or requesting clarification, I’m just warning other users looking for a free plugin to display Google reviews so they won’t lose their time as I did.
This is not a free plugin, this is a trial version of a paid plugin… what you call “premium features” is actually the core feature (displaying your Google reviews) therefore the “free” version is useless unless you purchase.
Then we can discuss if your business model is transparent or not… If I had +70 1/2-star review arguing it is not, I would start considering.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] Bad gateway (Error code 502)A bit slow, but it works now.

In reply to: [Phoenix Media Rename] Bad gateway (Error code 502)Same problem here, after the latest update /wp-admin/upload.php stopped loading.
I can’t edit my review, but I can post an update.
Shortpixel AI works now as usual, and their support granted me a lifetime subscription for Shorpixel AI and also for Fastpixel as compensation for the damage caused. For my surprise, with only one click, my PageSpeed and GTmetrix went from 40 to 90% performance in mobile and from 80 to 99% in desktop.
Hopefully this improvement will help me to recover the traffic lost really soon.
I just noticed that in some cases, a resized image is the one registered in the sitemap I bet it is because the widget resizes it.
For example, here: https://www.sosfactory.com/cartoon-logo-design/ your plugin still register: https://www.sosfactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/mascot-logo-shawarmaize-700×525.jpg
Also, when submitting to Search Console: https://www.sosfactory.com/image-sitemap.xml
it says Discovered pages 33. Shouldn’t it list the amount of images instead of the urls?- This reply was modified 1 year, 7 months ago by sosfactory.

In the link I see Google agrees with your approach, so only
<image:image>and<image:loc>should be included. Thanks!Great, it works!
It is there any reason why you don’t inlude alt, title, loc… in the sitemap?UPDATE: Only 1 day after I deactivated this plugin, old indexed images started to appear on Google Images. And not only when I Google for site:domain.com but also when I google for my targeted keywords.

On thanks a lot, from what I read having all the sizes could be not good for SEO.
Until it is relased. Do you know any filter to excluden then from functions.php?
Thanks a lot then 🙂
Yes a bit better, not perfect but it shows less artifacts. What did you do? And how did you change the quality?
Hi Gerard,
it seems the images looks ok on retina displays, mobile phones and ipad.
But in normal screens, the image has lots of artifacts. I’m guessing they have the same quantiy of artifacts but at 50% zoom (or double amount of pixels) on retina diplays they are not so noticeable so lossless compression is failing at any case. This image is a screen capture on how I see the same image in my Wacom Cintiq 22″ HD and my macbook pro (original images were served as lossless in my website):
Imaged served for no retina displays
Image quality I would expect as lossless at 255 pixel width
PS: images in this post are hosted in my site but they were not further optimised so you can see them as I see them online.
