Hi – most of the issues have been solved and my own IP address is not being blocked now, thanks. However it does appear that I’m getting slammed daily by StatusCake, which now fills my Wordfence Live feed from all over the world. So I’ll start a new post on that. They aren’t playing nice…
Appreciate everyone’s help. Thank you!
So my question is, then, why is my own IP address blocked? Or are the attacks coming from the datacenter with my own IP address? I’m confused.
thanks,
BethHi – I’m getting the same hits on my Live Feed showing that it’s blocked. But it’s my own IP address and it appears to be generated from inside the WordFence Plugin. It started today after I upgraded the plugin. It says “was blocked for Manual block by administrator.” But I had just logged in and hadn’t done anything. I have opened a ticket, but it may be something you need to look at in the new update. As Maltris states 3 months ago, the hits are coming 6-10 seconds apart and my blocked IP feed is scrolling rapidly.
Thanks! Below is a sampling of the message in the WordFence Live Feed.[my data center city], United States left https://xxx.com/?wordfence_syncAttackData=1477521151.375 and was blocked for Manual block by administrator at https://[mywebsite].com/?wordfence_syncAttackData=1477521151.375

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] contact form 7 configuration errorHi – I just posted this in another thread with the same problem — I figured it out — Give this a try.
WAIT! I think I found one of the problems. When we click to create a new contact form, the standard form is created for us to name and then modify. The developers forgot to fix something in their form. I finally found the errors. This may be it for all of you.
Go to the “Messages” tab when you are editing the contact form. Scroll to the very bottom. The last three are the standard Captcha responses to errors made by the person filling out the form. Even though this is a developer generated form, there is this error message in red to me under each of the three Captcha messages: HTML tags are not allowed in a message.
Delete the HTML tags in the message, save and You are GOLDEN. All error messages disappeared!! Woo Hoo!

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Configuration Error MessageI’m having the same issues as everyone else here. I’m thinking the problem is that my blog is a subdomain and I don’t happen to have any email addresses with that particular blog name. But when the form was automatically created, the program inserted [email protected] … that HAS to be one of the errors.
Here’s my biggest complaint, and maybe someone here can point me in the right direction: I get a notice that I have 3 errors in the configuration, but I have searched high and low for any hints as to what those errors are. There’s no highlighted error, no red line under something in a tab (as someone else suggested.) Where are the hints? I thought I was fixing an error and wound up with 4 instead of 3 errors!
Help!

In reply to: [Hueman] Scale a background image in .site-titleUpdate to post directly above mine – that’s me, too – I finally got it to work by adapting BDBrown’s recommendation in the CSS Syle Sheet Editor. All I did was add this:
.site-title a img {
max-height: 400px;
}and it worked. Thanks for the help!

In reply to: [Hueman] Comments don't go through and logo shows up in responseMurphy’s Law! I’ve been wrestling with this all morning and as soon as I post I figure it out. Perhaps all is not lost — Since this topic wasn’t showing up – I’ll explain how I fixed it:
1. Akismet was not configured properly, so it was blocking ALL comments.
2. On Theme Options all the way at the bottom, there’s a rocker switch for Page Comments. Duh. For some reason I had not switched this to “On.”
So for those looking at any old discussions about Comment problems with Hueman, ignore the advice about going into the backend on WP or your File Manager. Check these two things first.FWIW – I still love this theme!
Thanks everyone for indulging me.
