I may have phrased my question too broadly. Usually when I see an error message, it is because an event occurred that wasn’t expected, which is why when I see these, “A SIGNATURE_CHALLENGE error occurred,” I get concerned. Does this indicate a problem, or have I misinterpreted it?

    Thanks. That information is helpful.

Got it. I just tend to react when I see “error” anywhere. BTW, you might enjoy hearing this. A lot of security plugins don’t “play nice” with other security plugins. I haven’t found a single instance where Advanced IP Blockers interferes with other plugins, or is interfered with by them. I appreciate that.

Just happened to see these. I’m not fully familiar with this feature, so I figured it would be a good idea to ask.

I just thought I’d let you know that I’ve tried all of the latest additions and modifications. Wow! better than I’d hoped for. Great job.

I’m adding your plugin to a second site that I’ll use for testing, so I can develop settings for other sites I manage.

Thanks. I am using ip-api.com. I should have remembered the “Clear Location Cache,” which solved the problem. In the unlikely case it happens again, I will try to see if I can discern the reason.

Overall, everything has been working and there are no instances of your product interfering with any other plugins I use. I’m glad I found your product.

Clarification, when I say the location is gone, I referring to the map link. The the block does state the locale.

Just thought I’d let you know, that Geo and Waf blocks are beginning to show Location as “Not Available” in IP management, while locations are still shown in the Security Log. With only one exception, this impacts entries later than 2025-07-29 13:07:45 EDT.

    Thought you’d want to know.

I thought you should know. that in the security log, they are still reverting to Unblocked (Expired)

    Example:

2025-07-29 03:06:16 EDT Permanent WAF Rule Triggered: wlwmanifest.xml Frankfurt am Main, Germany
    Unblocked (Expired)

I have 8.4.4.3 and it does indeed do exactly what you said. That provides for all eventualities. Some blocks need to stay in place whereas others can be short term. I’ll be honest. One of the reasons I made some suggestions is that I like this plugin. It’s more than just an IP blocker. and has a range of features I haven’t seen elsewhere. So it’s in my interest that it becomes popular and stays in development for a long time. Keep up the good work.

Before I respond, I wanted to say thanks for the most recent update. I was about to let you know about the problem, but you beat me to it.

I was surprised to find that I could copy an IP that was blocked for any number of minutes and make it permanent in a separate entry, but that takes time and increases the size of the database. How about this? (I’ll put it in old fashioned pseudo-code.)

    if number = 0
    then block = “Permanent”
    else block = number_of_minutes

(understand that the last time I did any coding, it was in the last half of the 1980s and the language was BASIC.)

That way, the user gets to choose what is kept and what is allowed to expire as their default setting, without losing their ability to make changes where they wish.

I’ve now been using this plugin for a bit, and haven’t found any flaws. It is stable and hasn’t interfered with any other plugins I’ve used. Being able to select how long a block will remain, or make it permanent is very handy. The WAF, Geoblock, ASN, and Manual blocks all function as the should.

I have a couple of ideas, but will check to see if they are feasible before saying something dumb. I’ll let you know if they are. Good luck with this project.

    Alexandru,

Just letting you know that between your comments and the help of AI to determine the most likely points of conflict between and ways to avoid them, I managed to almost all the features I wanted to use to run properly. About the only thing I couldn’t use is 6G Firewall, but I expected that. I re-rated your plugin to 4 stars, and if you ever provide a live traffic page with easy IP lookup and blocking ability, I’ll give it 5 stars. Thanks for your help.

    Alexandru,

Thank you for your very informative reply. I will contact you via your contact form in the next day or so. I’m using today for another attempt to get your plugin and the one I use to “play nice” with each other. The reason is that one of the sites I manage is a members only site that we wish to keep all bots, except those used by the host service for necessary functions. In other words, no search engines, internet mapping or others that don’t usually get categorized as “bad bots.” The plugin I’ve been using is the only one I know of that can block IP addresses and ranges locally and do the same on Cloudflare. The idea being to take the load of our server in the future.

The good news is that I think I can find a solution to eliminating the conflict.

Thank you for your quick response. We’ll adjust things to comply with no cache and see what happens.
