Thank You for your response. That does answer the question.
The issue is, however, resolved when I restarted my laptop.
To explain what exactly happened –
I was actually trying to redirect an existing page on my wordpress site to another using the redirection plugin. I created a new redirection for that page but it did not work and so I deleted the redirection created. I thought after deletion the page should display the old url it was displaying but it kept redirecting to the redirection link I created through the plugin even after deleting it.
At the end when i restarted the laptop the page displayed the old url just fine.
