Thank you for your advice. So it turns out that the problem was MailGun, though it was still causing the issue even when the tracking was turned off. I was able to solve the issue by 1) removing the MailGun tracking CNAME record from the DNS and 2) replacing the MailGun plugin with the WP SMTP Lite plugin set up with the MailGun server. It could be one or the other that is actually resolving the issue, I didn’t test them individually. But, if someone needs help with this in the future, hopefully these steps will help.

An update. I just figured out that the problem was one of my browser extensions!

Thanks for checking in. It is working! I had originally added data-width and data-height to the image and so thought it wasn’t working, but just now I added it to the anchor and it works great. Thanks a lot for your help. Very cool. Here’s the code in case anyone else bumps into this problem.

Thank you for your quick response! I did try adding height and width to the image, but unfortunately, it hasn’t made a difference. Please let me know if there is any additional info you need from me. Appreciate your help!

PS: One other thing that might be helpful to know is that I tried replacing the svg with a png and still had the same problem.
